12 Word Hodgepodge

My baby just turned 12 on Valentine's Day; hence, 12-word answers today..

1. What's the biggest change since your childhood in the way people think or act?

Entitlement thinking, leading  to entitlement actions. Someone owes me  because I'm awesome.

2. The Olympic Biathlon involves cross country skiing broken up with either two or four rounds of target shooting. Which part of that would stress you out more? Or would you love them both equally?

Cross country skiing would stress me out. Shooting's a blast (quite literally)!

3. February is National Canned Food Month...what is your most often purchased canned food item?  What was in the last can you opened?

Tomatoes are what I most often buy. Last opened? White albacore tuna.
4. What river (anywhere in the world) would you most like to cruise?

I think this question was asked before. I'll say "Beautiful Blue Danube."

5. It's the middle of the night and you can't sleep...what do you do? Count sheep? Toss and turn? Watch television? Or do you get up and do something productive?

Complain to self, then pray. If still awake, I'll read or write.

6. How important is keeping your cool?

"A fool vents all his feelings; a wise man restrains them."   (*Proverbs 29:11)

7. I've got white stuff on the brain so why not run with it? White lie, wave the white flag, white knuckle it, white wash a situation, or white as a sheet...which phrase could most recently apply to your own life in some way?

How about white glove? Monday I cleaned inside AND behind my oven!

8. Insert your own random thought here.

I went to Walmart for the first time in 3 years yesterday.

Walmart. Congratulations? I avoid it like the plague : )

I'm 'reviewing' my verses from last year since I dropped the ball about six months in on the memory work. Funny how much stuck though. One I'm committing to memory is this-'Where words are many transgression is not lacking. Whoever restrains his lips is prudent." Provb. 10:19 Amen. Also note to self. Ha!

Love your answer for #1. I see that way too much..."I was born. Be awed by my greatness. Gimme." Yeah, not so much most of the time. :P

"Shooting's a blast." It is!

You blew a 3-year streak? I hate to ask what made you do it! But what did?

Zoanna...you nailed it with your answer to #1! I think we're all in agreement. Kids today need a serious dose of reality! Wow...no shopping at Wal-Mart for 3 years? Impressive, but not sure I could pull it off.

The answer to the Walmart question deserves its own post. It involves that verse I quoted because of some bad behavior I witnessed there. Ugh.

The short answer is I was doing returns for my hubby , so was practicing the discipline of dying to self.

I don't want to die again there for 3 more years, at least.

I absolutely loved your 12 word answers! You said so much using so little :)
I loved the quote you used to answer #6. So true!

You are so good with few words. And, you must have other options for shopping if you have not been to WM in 3 years. My goodness, I go to WM at least 3X a week. It's all we've got! Boo! Hiss!

Happy rest of the week!

Ouch! If you read my last blog post, you'd know that your verse on #6 hit me hard! Yikes... perhaps I should go ammend my whining! Oy. I didn't get to Hodgepodge this week - starting this new full time job while still working the other night shift job has kicked me in the kahooey... hopefully after I'm done at night next week I'll be able to HP again! In the meantime, I'll keep checking in on you!

And condolences on your trip to Walmart... I'm sorry you had to break your 3-year-reprieve.
