Did I Tell You I'm Writing a Book?

I just started last night. It's actually part of a well-known series. Our care group was talking about wonderful books to give new moms to help start their child's own library.

Titles that were thrown into the mix included Goodnight Moon, Make Way for Ducklings, The Ox-Cart Man, Love You Forever, and Mars Needs Moms. (Mitzy, with a flair for the melodramatic, was suggesting the tear-jerkers.)
My Paul, never a sap, chimed in with "How about If You Give a Mouse a Cookie"?

Great one, we agreed. And so are its companions, If You Give a Mouse a Muffin and If You Give a Pig a Pancake.

I said I'd write the next one. It's called If You Give a Wife a Credit Card.

Remarked Paul, "Now that's a tear-jerker."

Mitzy had me in tears and then you zany zubrowskis had me in stitches! I love being in our care group. Love, ministering to one another, and a load of laughter!

you know, I have to admit, I still don't see the appeal of Goodnight, Moon. Blah--we have it but have only read it a handful of times. In terms of bedtime books, I vastly prefer Good Night, Gorilla.

I'd give a new mom any of Sandra Boynton's books...we are in love with her here at our house. as far as sappy books, Guess How Much I Love You is a sweet one, and comes in board book form.

The Very Hungry Caterpillar--or anything Eric Carle--is a classic, too. Don't get me started on children's books!

Amy, I wholeheartedly agree about Goodnight, Moon. Way overrated on the children's book lists out there. In fact, someone last night said Goodnight, Gorilla is better, but I don't think I've read it. Love the VHC by Carle.

Karen, I feel the same. I think we all feed off each other in the humor department. And if care group wasn't funny enough, what about our women-only times???!!! You gotta have an empty bladder when we get together.

I've never read Goodnight Gorilla! Hmmm...we have Goodnight Moon and it's ahh-ite, but quite honestly my daughter just likes to find the mouse on each page.

I love your humor Zo! Everytime I read your blog I hear a "bah dump bump" after your one-liners! :oP
